This policy explains how The MSP Mentor (P Tomlinson Property Limited) collects and uses your personal information when you visit themspmentor.co.uk, get in touch, or work with me. I take your privacy seriously and only collect what I need.
Who I am
The MSP Mentor is a trading name of P Tomlinson Property Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12565421), with its registered office at Brook Farm, Northampton Road, Milton Keynes, MK19 7BB. The business is run by its director, Paul Tomlinson. P Tomlinson Property Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, and references to “I”, “me” or “my” in this policy mean the company. What information I collect
When you contact me by email, phone or LinkedIn, I collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, your MSP’s name and size, and your message.
If we work together, I will hold contact details for you and relevant colleagues, along with information about your business that you share with me during our engagement, such as questionnaire answers, meeting notes and action plans. Business information shared under an NDA is also protected by the terms of that agreement.
I do not use analytics or advertising tracking on this website, and I do not buy or sell personal data.
How I use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss whether and how we might work together.
- To deliver mentoring and consultancy services if you become a client, including arranging meetings, sharing notes and following up on actions.
- To send invoices and keep the financial records the law requires.
- To keep my website secure and working properly.
I will not send you marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them.
My legal basis for using your information
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries about my services and running my business.
- Contract — when you engage me, or when you ask me to take steps before entering into an agreement.
- Legal obligation — keeping financial and tax records.
Who I share it with
I only share your information with trusted providers who help me run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- IONOS, who host this website.
- My email and IT providers, who store my email and documents.
- Google Fonts. This website loads its fonts from Google’s servers, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when you visit. See Google’s privacy policy.
- My accountant, for invoicing and tax purposes if you are a client.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it with appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision. I will also share information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to working together: up to two years, then deleted.
- Client records: for the length of our engagement and then six years, to meet legal and tax requirements.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies to track visitors. WordPress sets cookies only if you log in to the site’s admin area.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- ask me to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask me to delete your information
- object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use your information
- ask me to transfer your information to another organisation

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
